This role attracts a SPOT Rate salary. SPOT Rate offers a progressive increase in pay to reflect the skills and experience of the officer.

Roles based in London will receive an additional London Weighting (Annually) of £4218

Allowances are reviewed annually and may be increased, decreased or removed. A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%

Job description

As an experienced Intelligence Analyst, your role will be to conduct complex and wide-ranging analysis in support of the National Crime Agency’s mission and strategy. You will access a range of covert and overt capabilities to inform this work, working with government, Law Enforcement, UK Intelligence Community, private and third sector, in support of both tactical, thematic, and strategic objectives.

You will be working with often large, multiple data sources to interpret and inform on threat, identifying new lines of enquiry and disruption opportunities, presenting data visually in a way that is easy to comprehend. The post holder will provide accurate, clear and quality analytical products that add value to proactively inform the prioritisation of SOC nominals and groups, inform threat areas understanding and decision making processes at the highest levels of law enforcement.

This role will see the post holder working closely with the respective Intelligence, Investigation and Threat area officers; they will regularly brief on their analytical findings and provide direction and recommendations.

The post holder will be supported through a dedicated analytical line management structure to provide analytical feedback and guidance to enhance their skills, with access to wider team support through forums and continuous professional development events.

To be considered, you will need to successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance before commencing the role and achieve DV STRAP clearance within the first 12 months in post. Please see full job advert and the NCA website for Nationality Requirements.

Qualifications

Formal intelligence analysis training (e.g. National Intelligence Analysis Training (NIAT) / Government Intelligence Analyst Training (GIAT) / Defence Intelligence Analyst Module (DIAM) / New Analyst Programme (NAP) / Intelligence Analyst (level 4) Apprenticeship/ Forensic Analytics Intelligence Analyst course)

and

IPP Intelligence Analyst certification

or

Non-certificated IPP Intelligence Analyst (NCA G5) currently working towards this certificate as a substantive officer in an IPP aligned role

or

Equivalent experience gained from performing Intelligence Analyst functions either previously or currently
