Management of Sex Offenders & Violent Offenders Officer (MOSOVO)

Accreditation: ICIDP (or willingness to work towards)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday (AM shift week) with one weekend in six. Where necessary, undertake duties on a shift pattern to meet operational needs. Flexibility is essential, and working arrangements may be varied in accordance with service demand and organisational priorities.
Holiday: 28 days holiday (Bank Holiday entitlement included within the 28 days).
Accommodation: Shared accommodation provided.
Flights: Three return flights between the UK and Isle of Man provided

A specialist opportunity has opened for an experienced investigator to join a dedicated Public Protection team managing risk posed by Registered Sex Offenders, violent offenders and Potentially Dangerous Persons. This role sits within a multi‑agency environment and directly supports the strategic aim of protecting vulnerable people and keeping communities safe.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Registered Sex Offenders in line with legislation, APP and MAPPA processes.

  • Work closely with Probation, Prison Services and partner agencies to assess, monitor and reduce risk.

  • Lead on investigations involving Indecent Images of Children.

  • Identify and manage Potentially Dangerous Persons and Level 1 MAPPA cases.

  • Conduct joint visits, complete risk assessments and ensure accurate intelligence submissions.

  • Provide specialist advice, mentoring and training to colleagues on offender management and MAPPA.

  • Support the wider Risk Hub (DA, Vulnerable Adults, Safeguarding Children, LAC/CSE).

  • Participate in detective weekend cover on a rota basis.

What You’ll Bring

  • ICIDP accreditation (or commitment to achieve).

  • Strong understanding of MAPPA, RSO restrictions and safeguarding.

  • Knowledge of ABE principles (desirable).

  • High standard of IT literacy and ability to adapt to new systems.

  • Excellent communication, judgement and decision‑making.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multi‑agency partners.

  • Professional resilience, integrity and a proactive approach to risk management.
