Senior Manager – Assessment, Analysis & Collection

We are currently looking for experienced Senior Manager – Assessment, Analysis & Collection to join our Criminal Enforcement Unit in the Safety and Surveillance group.

Within a week of working here, your day could look like this: lead the Assessment, Analysis and Collection (AAC) team within the CEU function, delivering multiple capabilities enabling it to meet its strategic aim. AAC sits at the centre of the CEU, setting and maintaining its high-level direction and informing decision-making. The strategic insight derived from the work of AAC is the engine driving the Agency’s criminal threat reduction activity. The postholder is the strategic intelligence lead for the MHRA Criminal Enforcement Unit and head of profession for intelligence assessment.

Key responsibilities:

  • As the analysis and assessment professional lead, guiding intelligence collection to fill gaps in strategic understanding, strengthening the use of structured analytical techniques, and innovating solutions to challenging intelligence problems.
  • Maintaining and articulating a comprehensive, persuasive and intelligence-based single picture of the criminal threat from medicines and medical devices related offending, to set the direction of the CEU, inform decision-making and drive criminal threat reduction activity.
  • Leading for the CEU on the production of the Medicines Crime Strategic Threat Assessment, annual control strategy, Strategic Intelligence Requirement (SIR) and ad hoc assessed intelligence products ensuring these meet professional standards and provide robust judgement and insight.

Our successful candidate will have:

  • Substantial recent experience in supervising and quality assuring the production of all- source assessed intelligence products (including strategic threat assessments), annual control strategies and Strategic Intelligence Requirements.
  • Recent experience of successfully applying the principles of the National Intelligence Model to the collection, development and use of criminal intelligence.
  • Significant recent experience of using structured analytical techniques in all-source intelligence assessment and analysis sufficient to oversee the delivery of this capability and to perform the role of head of profession for the Agency.
