Business Analyst

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Business Analyst for a police force based in the West Midlands. The business analyst will support a number of ways including;

  • Introduction of new technologies
  • Re-procurement of critical operational systems
  • System upgrades across a range of business areas
  • Operating model changes and the introduction of new ways of working

Location – Leek Wooton (hybrid, 2-3 days a week in the office)
Contract – 6 months
Day Rates – Outside IR35, rate to be discussed

Main duties and responsibilities
The contractor will formally report to the Senior Business Change Manager with matrix management to Project Managers / Sponsors of the capital projects the BA is supporting. On a project by project basis, the contractor will lead / support BA activity including:

  • Current state analysis: review business processes, systems and workflows to assess the current state. This will include engaging with stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities. The BA will document findings and highlight areas requiring improvement or intervention.
  • Requirements and use case gathering: facilitate requirements gathering activity with stakeholders to define business needs, functional and non-functional requirements and system capability requirements. Use cases will be developed to capture specific scenarios / need ensuring clarity on how users will interact with the proposed solution and prioritise requirements based on impact, feasibility and alignment to project goals. 
  • Data collection & evidence analysis: collect and analyse relevant data sets – likely to include performance / management information, user feedback and other source to provide actionable insights.
  • Documentation preparation: prepare detailed documentation including business requirements documents, specifications, use cases, and process mapping workflows. This may include supporting the development of procurement specifications to engage the market.
  • Solution Implementation and testing: collaborate with project and development teams to ensure the solution meets business requirements. This will include participating in test case development and UAT. Work closely with appropriate teams to validate the solution aligns with project goals / business needs and is ready for deployment.
  • Deployment support: work closely with Project Managers Business Change Managers to support end users by providing training support, knowledge transfer and hyper-care to ensure a smooth transition to new systems and processes.
