Paralegal – Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – 3 months initially – London

About the Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the EMO (Enforcement and Market Oversight) division of the Financial Conduct Authority; EMO is responsible for the FCA’s responsibilities for market monitoring, delivery of the functions of the UK Listing Authority (UKLA) and the investigation and prosecution of misconduct pursuing and remedying misconduct using the whole spectrum of criminal, civil and administrative sanctions and remedies against firms and individuals.
This role will give you the chance to work on a high-profile portfolio of cases of public importance as part of a multi-disciplinary team, investigating and tackling serious financial services matters
What does this role involve?
- Reviewing evidence; document analysis and initial classification of documents for relevance, and whether materials support or undermine Enforcement for disclosure purposes.
- Responsibility for document and project management records and tasks, including recording key case decisions.
- Administrative support and document management to ensure appropriate audit trails and orderly classification of case progress/ milestones.
- Working closely and collaboratively with Business Support.
- Conducting timely and accurate document preparation and collation including bundles for interviews with witnesses and subjects, disclosure, the RDC and Tribunals.
- Drafting basic documents (e.g. notes of conference calls, minutes of internal and external meetings). Proof reading.
- Carrying out intelligence checks, company house searches and legal research.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- Experience of civil or criminal litigation process
- Experience using e-discovery platforms
- Disclosure reviews
- Reviewing large volumes of complex records
- Working under pressure and with competing case priorities
- Attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
