Assistant Chief Officer (ACO)

An Assistant Chief Officer (ACO) is a strategic manager responsible for the delivery of Offender Management Performance, budget management and the development of effective partnership arrangements. Accountable to either the Chief Probation Officer or a Deputy Chief (or equivalent post) in larger Probation Areas, an ACO is a member of the Probation area strategic management team and will be required to represent Probation positively at Chief Officer level.

Skills / Experience

Proven experience of effective performance management at a senior level.

A commitment to excellence and evidenced- based practice with offenders

Experience of implementing successful change management

An ability to work in partnership at a senior level with other organisations in the public, voluntary and private sector.
